The Championship was heavily contested, using a random draw for each day, this way ensuring that each Club played 4 different teams from other Regions.. A 2-day event greatly reduces the “luck of the draw” aspect of the competition. Following a luncheon on the first day Coppinwood took the lead with 22 points followed by Rocky Crest with 20 and Whitevale with 19.
The second day a 09:30 am shotgun started after a buffet breakfast. Following the golf, a vast array of canapés were distributed to the participants while the scoring was completed by Head Professional Ed Clarkson and his staff.
On this day Bridgewater amassed 22 points and 3 other clubs, Whitevale, Maple City and host club Deer Ridge attained 18 points. As a result the 2-day total of 37 points by Whitevale claimed the Championship and the Art Stead trophy presented by Art himself.
